Pastor Lowell Nelson teaches on 2 Samuel 19: 19 "David Pardons His Enemies" on 4/7/2024 for our Sunday Service.

2 Samuel 19: 19 Then he said to the king, "Do not let my lord impute iniquity to me, or remember what wrong your servant did on the day that my lord the king left Jerusalem, that the king should take it to heart.

A study on forgiveness. What it is. What it isn’t. Why it matters. King David returns to Jerusalem after fleeing from Absalom and after the battle that cost Absalom his life.  Shimei, the Benjamite who cursed David in 2 Samuel 17: 7-14, now comes to greet the king upon his return and seek forgiveness.  He declares, "I have sinned."  the same words as David spoke in 2 Samuel 12: 13 when Nathan confronted David about his sin. As Nathan declared the words, "you shall not die."  David declares these same words to Shimei in 2 Samuel 19: 23. The same forgiveness he received, he gives to others.
